Subscription & Auto-Renewal Terms

How RiseDare plans, free trials, automatic renewals, UPI AutoPay and card mandates, price changes and cancellation work, whether you buy on the App Store, on Google Play or on our website.

1. About these terms

These Subscription & Auto-Renewal Terms explain how paid plans for RiseDare work. RiseDare is operated by (to be added), (to be added) ("RiseDare", "we", "us"). They apply to every paid plan, whether you bought it through the Apple App Store, through Google Play or on our website.

These terms form part of our Terms of Service and should be read together with the Refund & Cancellation Policy, the Service Delivery Policy and, if you use it, the Hardcore Mode Terms. If you buy through the App Store or Google Play, the terms of that store also apply to the purchase and to billing.

By starting a free trial or buying a plan you confirm that you have read these terms, that you are allowed to use the payment method you provide, and that you agree to be charged as described here. Users under 18 need the consent of a parent or guardian before buying anything.

2. Free and paid plans

RiseDare can be used for free. The Free plan includes the core alarm and a selection of missions. Paid plans unlock the features described as Pro in the app and on our pricing page at the time you buy.

The paid plans are:

  • Pro Monthly: a subscription that is billed once a month and renews automatically every month until you cancel.
  • Pro Yearly: a subscription that is billed once a year and renews automatically every year until you cancel.
  • Family: a yearly subscription that covers up to 6 people (the organiser and up to 5 invited members) and renews automatically every year until the organiser cancels.
  • Lifetime: a single one-time payment. It does not renew and there is nothing to cancel.

3. Prices, currency and taxes

The price of each plan is the price shown at checkout at the moment you confirm your purchase. On our website and in India, prices are shown in Indian Rupees (INR) and include applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST). Prices in the App Store and on Google Play are set in the store, may be shown in your local currency, and may differ from the website price and from country to country because of store pricing tiers, taxes and exchange rates.

Offers, coupons and introductory prices apply only to the plan, the period and the customers stated in the offer. Unless the offer says otherwise, an introductory or discounted price applies to the first billing period only, and the plan then renews at the regular price shown to you at checkout.

Your bank, card issuer or UPI app may apply its own charges (for example, for international transactions). Those charges are not set or collected by us.

4. Free trial

Eligible new users get a 3-day free trial of Pro or Family. No payment for the plan is taken on the day you start the trial. We remind you on day 2 of the trial that it is about to end.

Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your chosen plan starts when the trial ends and you are charged the price shown at checkout. That charge is the start of your first paid billing period.

Trial rules:

  • One trial per person, per device and per payment method. We may refuse or end a trial if we find that the same person is taking repeated trials.
  • To start a trial you must choose a plan and provide a payment method or approve a mandate, so that the plan can start without interruption when the trial ends.
  • You can cancel during the trial at no cost. If you cancel, you are not charged for the plan.
  • For trials started through the App Store or Google Play, the store manages the trial and its own rules on when a trial can be cancelled and how long access continues also apply.
  • The Lifetime plan is a one-time purchase and does not come with a free trial unless the checkout page says so.
  • If you forgot to cancel a trial started on our website, see the Refund & Cancellation Policy for the refund window that applies.

5. How automatic renewal works

Pro Monthly, Pro Yearly and Family are auto-renewing subscriptions. This means that at the end of each billing period the plan renews for another period of the same length and your payment method is charged, without you having to do anything, until you cancel.

The renewal charge is the price shown to you at checkout, unless we have told you about a price change as described below. Your next renewal date is shown in the app and, for web purchases, in Account → Billing on the website.

Automatic renewal is there so that your alarms and Pro features are not interrupted. If you do not want a plan to renew, cancel it before the renewal date using the steps in the Cancellation sections below.

6. Purchases through the Apple App Store (iOS)

If you subscribe in the iOS app, the purchase is made with Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your Apple ID is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.

To manage or cancel: open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name (Apple ID), then tap Subscriptions, choose RiseDare and turn off renewal. Apple, not RiseDare, holds your payment details, sends your receipts and decides on refunds for these purchases.

7. Purchases through Google Play (Android)

If you subscribe in the Android app, the purchase is made with Google Play. Payment is charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase and at each renewal, using the payment method saved in that account.

To manage or cancel: open the Google Play app, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, choose RiseDare and cancel. Google, not RiseDare, holds your payment details, sends your receipts and handles refunds for these purchases under its own policies.

8. Purchases on our website

On our website you can pay by UPI, UPI AutoPay, credit or debit card, or net banking. Payments are processed by our payment gateway partner. We receive a transaction reference and the payment status; we never receive or store your full card number, card security code or UPI PIN.

Auto-renewing plans bought on the website need a payment method that supports recurring payments, which means a UPI AutoPay mandate or a card e-mandate. Payment methods that cannot be charged automatically, such as a one-time UPI payment or net banking, can be used for one-time purchases such as Lifetime, and for other plans only where the checkout page offers them.

After a successful web purchase you receive a confirmation and a GST invoice by e-mail, and you activate the plan in the app with the e-mail address you used to buy or with the activation code we send you. The Service Delivery Policy explains activation in detail.

9. UPI AutoPay and card e-mandates

Recurring payments on our website are collected under an e-mandate that you approve yourself, in line with the Reserve Bank of India's rules on recurring payments and e-mandates. A mandate is your standing instruction to your bank or UPI app to allow us to collect the renewal amount on the renewal date.

What you should know about mandates:

  • Setting up a mandate needs your approval in your UPI app or with your card issuer, using the authentication your bank requires (for example, your UPI PIN or a one-time password).
  • The mandate shows the maximum amount that can be collected, how often, and until when. We will never collect more than the renewal price that applies to your plan.
  • You receive a pre-debit notification at least 24 hours before each renewal charge, stating the amount and the date of the charge.
  • Depending on the amount and on your bank's rules, your bank may ask you to approve an individual charge again. If you do not approve it, the payment fails and the rules on failed payments below apply.
  • You can pause or revoke a UPI AutoPay mandate at any time from your UPI app, and you can cancel a card mandate through your card issuer. You can also cancel from Account → Billing on our website, which stops future charges.
  • Pausing or revoking a mandate stops future payments but does not refund a payment already made. Revoking a mandate without cancelling the plan means the next renewal will fail and the plan will end as described below.

10. Failed or declined payments

A renewal payment can fail for reasons such as insufficient balance, an expired card, a paused or revoked mandate, a bank decline or a technical problem at the bank or gateway.

If a renewal payment fails, we or the store may try the charge again, as far as the store's rules and your mandate allow, and we will tell you so that you can update your payment method. If the payment cannot be collected, your paid plan ends and your account moves to the Free plan. Your alarms, streaks, badges and history are kept, but Pro features stop working until you subscribe again.

For App Store and Google Play subscriptions, the store decides whether to retry a failed payment and whether to give a grace period, under its own rules. You are not charged a fee by us for a failed payment.

11. Price changes

We may change the price of a plan. If the price of your subscription is going to increase, we will tell you at least 30 days before the increase, by e-mail or in the app. The new price applies from your next renewal after that notice; it never applies to a period you have already paid for.

If you do not accept the new price, you can cancel before the renewal date and you will keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for. Where the App Store, Google Play or the mandate rules require your fresh consent to a higher price, the plan will not renew at the higher price without that consent.

A price change does not affect a Lifetime plan that you have already bought.

12. How to cancel

You can cancel an auto-renewing plan at any time. You must cancel in the place where you bought it:

  • App Store: Settings → your name (Apple ID) → Subscriptions → RiseDare → cancel, at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Google Play: Google Play app → profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → RiseDare → cancel.
  • Website: sign in on our website and go to Account → Billing, then cancel the plan. You can also pause or revoke the UPI AutoPay mandate from your UPI app.
  • If you cannot find where you bought your plan, write to [email protected] from your registered e-mail address and we will tell you where it is billed.
  • We cannot cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription for you, because the store controls those subscriptions.

13. What happens after you cancel

Cancelling stops future renewals. It does not end your plan immediately: you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then your account moves to the Free plan. Cancelling does not by itself give you a refund for the current period; refunds are covered by the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Please note:

  • Deleting the app from your phone does not cancel a subscription.
  • Deleting your RiseDare account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel it in the store first.
  • Signing out, changing phones or turning off notifications does not cancel a subscription.
  • After your plan ends your alarms keep working on the Free plan, and your streaks, badges and history are kept. Features and limits that belong to Pro stop being available.
  • You can subscribe again at any time at the price shown at checkout on that day. A new free trial is not given to someone who has already had one.
  • If Hardcore Mode is on when your Pro plan ends, Hardcore Mode is turned off, because it is available to Pro subscribers only.

14. Family plan

The Family plan is a yearly, auto-renewing subscription bought by one person, the organiser, who can invite up to 5 other people, so that up to 6 people in total have Pro.

Family plan rules:

  • The organiser pays for the plan, receives the invoice, and is the only person who can cancel it, change its payment method or request a refund for it.
  • The organiser invites members and can remove them. A member can leave at any time. A person who is removed or leaves moves to the Free plan and keeps their own alarms, streaks and history.
  • Each member uses their own RiseDare account. Members' alarms, sleep data and chats stay private from each other and from the organiser unless a member chooses to share them in a group. The organiser sees only who the members are.
  • When the Family plan ends or is refunded, all members move to the Free plan at the same time.
  • Joining a Family plan does not automatically cancel a subscription that a member is already paying for separately. That member should cancel their own subscription where they bought it to avoid paying twice.
  • Hardcore Mode is set up and paid for by each adult member individually with their own payment method; the organiser is not charged for a member's stakes.
  • The Family plan is meant for family members and people close to you. Selling or publicly sharing places in a Family plan is not allowed.

15. Lifetime plan

Lifetime is a single one-time payment that gives your account the Pro features for as long as we operate the RiseDare service. It does not renew and no mandate is needed for it.

A Lifetime plan belongs to the RiseDare account it was activated on. It cannot be sold, transferred to another person or split between accounts. It covers the Pro features of the RiseDare app; it does not cover Hardcore Mode stakes, the Family plan, or separate products and services that we may offer in future and describe as not included.

If you already have an active auto-renewing subscription when you buy Lifetime, cancel that subscription where you bought it so that it does not renew.

16. One account, fair use and changing plans

A plan is linked to one RiseDare account and is for your personal, non-commercial use. A purchase made in the App Store or on Google Play can be restored on another device signed in to the same store account and the same RiseDare account. A web purchase is activated with the purchase e-mail address or the activation code.

Some features, in particular the Chuzi AI features, are subject to fair-use limits so that the service stays reliable for everyone. If you reach a limit, that feature pauses for a while and the rest of the app keeps working.

You can move from one plan to another. If you bought through the App Store or Google Play, upgrades, downgrades and any credit for unused time are handled by the store under its rules. For web purchases, a change of plan takes effect as shown to you at checkout; if you want to change plans in the middle of a period, contact [email protected] and we will tell you the options before you pay.

17. Changes to features, suspension and ending of the service

We improve RiseDare continuously and may add, change or remove features. We will not remove the main benefits of a plan you have paid for during a period you have already paid for without a good reason, such as a legal requirement, a security risk or a third-party service that is no longer available.

We may suspend or end a plan if the payment for it is reversed or charged back, if it was obtained by fraud or misuse of an offer, or if the account seriously or repeatedly breaks our Terms of Service. Where reasonable we will give you notice and a chance to put things right first.

If we permanently stop offering a paid plan or the service, we will give reasonable notice and will not renew your plan. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other law that cannot be excluded.

18. Invoices and records

For web purchases we send a GST invoice to the e-mail address used for the purchase. If you need your business GSTIN on the invoice, enter it at checkout before you pay; an invoice cannot always be changed after it has been issued. For App Store and Google Play purchases the receipt is issued by Apple or Google.

We keep payment and invoice records for the period required by Indian tax law, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will notify you in the app or by e-mail at least 15 days before a material change takes effect. If you do not agree with a change you can cancel before it takes effect and keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for.

20. Help, complaints and company details

For questions about billing, write to [email protected] from your registered e-mail address and include your order ID if you have one.
