Refund & Cancellation Policy

When and how you can cancel a RiseDare plan and get your money back, for purchases made on the App Store, on Google Play and on our website, including Hardcore Mode stakes, duplicate charges and chargebacks.

1. About this policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how to cancel a RiseDare plan and when you can get a refund. RiseDare is operated by (to be added), (to be added) ("RiseDare", "we", "us"). This policy forms part of our Terms of Service and should be read with the Subscription & Auto-Renewal Terms, the Service Delivery Policy and the Hardcore Mode Terms.

RiseDare sells digital services only: access to Pro features in the app. Nothing physical is shipped, so there is nothing to return. A refund, where it applies, means that we return the money you paid and the paid access linked to that payment ends.

2. Where you bought decides who refunds you

The first thing to check is where the purchase was made, because that decides who holds the payment and who can return it.

  • Apple App Store (bought inside the iOS app): Apple took the payment. Apple decides on and pays the refund.
  • Google Play (bought inside the Android app): Google took the payment. Google decides on and pays the refund under its policies.
  • Our website: we took the payment through our payment gateway partner. We decide on and pay the refund under this policy.
  • Not sure where you bought? Check your e-mail for the receipt: an Apple or Google receipt means a store purchase, and a GST invoice from us means a web purchase. You can also write to [email protected] and we will tell you.

3. Cancellation and refund are different things

Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again. Cancelling does not automatically return money you have already paid.

A refund returns a payment that has already been made, and ends the paid access that payment bought. If you only want to stop being charged in future, cancelling is enough. If you want money back for a recent charge, you need to cancel and also ask for a refund within the time limits below.

You are never charged a fee for cancelling.

4. How to cancel

  • App Store: Settings → your name (Apple ID) → Subscriptions → RiseDare → cancel, at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Google Play: Google Play app → profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → RiseDare → cancel.
  • Website: sign in on our website, go to Account → Billing and cancel the plan. You can also pause or revoke the UPI AutoPay mandate from your UPI app.
  • Free trial: cancel in the same place, at least 24 hours before the trial ends, and you are not charged.
  • Lifetime: there is nothing to cancel, because it is a one-time payment that does not renew.
  • Deleting the app, signing out or deleting your RiseDare account does not cancel a subscription bought through a store. Cancel it in the store first.

5. Refunds for App Store purchases

Purchases made through Apple are refunded by Apple under Apple's policies. To request a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, choose the RiseDare purchase and follow the steps. Apple will tell you its decision.

We cannot issue, speed up or overrule a refund for an App Store purchase, because we do not hold the payment. We are happy to help: if you write to [email protected] we can confirm your purchase details and explain the steps.

6. Refunds for Google Play purchases

Purchases made through Google Play are refunded by Google under Google Play's refund policies. To request a refund, open your Google Play order history, select the RiseDare order and use the option to request a refund or report a problem. Google will tell you its decision.

We cannot directly refund a Google Play purchase from our own systems in the way we can for web purchases. If Google refers you back to the developer, or if you need help, write to [email protected] with your Google Play order number and we will do what the store allows us to do.

7. Refunds for web purchases

If you bought on our website, these are the refund windows. The time runs from the date of the charge you want refunded.

  • Forgot to cancel your free trial: write to us within 7 days of the first charge and we refund that charge in full.
  • Pro Yearly and Family plans: full refund within 14 days of purchase if you have not used Pro features heavily. After 14 days, a pro-rata refund for the unused part of the year is at our discretion.
  • Lifetime: refundable in full within 14 days of purchase.
  • Pro Monthly: you can ask for a refund within the first 7 days of a charge. After the first 7 days there are no refunds for a partial month, but you can cancel at any time and keep Pro until the end of the month you paid for.
  • Renewals: a renewal charge is treated in the same way as a first purchase of the same plan, and the same window applies from the renewal date. Because we send a pre-debit notification before each renewal, please cancel before the renewal date if you do not want to continue.

8. What "heavy use" means

The 14-day refund for Pro Yearly and Family plans is meant for people who tried the plan and found it was not right for them. It is not meant to give a period of full use for free. When we look at a request we consider how much of the paid features was actually used during the period, for example sustained daily use of Pro-only features or of the Chuzi AI features across most of the period.

We apply this fairly and in good faith. If we refuse a refund for this reason we will tell you so and explain why, and you can ask for the decision to be reviewed by our Grievance Officer.

9. When we always refund

Whatever the time limits above say, we will put things right where the problem is on our side or the charge should never have happened:

  • Duplicate charge: you were charged twice for the same plan. We refund the duplicate in full.
  • Paid but not activated: you were charged but did not receive Pro and we could not activate it for you after you contacted us.
  • Wrong amount: you were charged more than the price shown to you at checkout. We refund the difference.
  • Charged after cancelling: you were charged for a renewal on the website after you had cancelled in time.
  • Unauthorised use: a payment was made on our website with your payment method without your permission. Tell us and your bank immediately; we will investigate and co-operate with your bank.
  • Service not provided: we were unable to provide the paid service for a significant part of the period for a reason within our control.

10. When a refund is not available

  • The request is made after the refund window for that plan has passed and none of the cases in the section above applies.
  • The purchase was made through the App Store or Google Play. In that case the store decides, not us.
  • The paid plan was ended by us because of fraud, abuse of an offer or a serious breach of our Terms of Service.
  • The request is for a period that has already been fully used, or is one of repeated purchase-and-refund requests that show the refund policy is being misused.
  • Your alarm did not ring because of your device, its operating system settings, its battery, or permissions that were turned off. Alarms depend on your device, as explained in our Terms of Service. If you believe the fault was in our app, tell us and we will look into it.
  • You changed your mind about a Hardcore Mode stake after a missed alarm was confirmed. Stakes are covered by the Hardcore Mode section below.
  • Rewards, coupons, wallet credits earned through promotions and free months have no cash refund value.

11. Family plan refunds

Only the organiser who paid for a Family plan can ask for it to be refunded. A refund ends Pro for the organiser and for every member at the same time. Members cannot ask for a refund of a share of the plan, and a member leaving or being removed does not create a refund.

12. Hardcore Mode stakes

A Hardcore Mode stake is the amount you agreed in advance to be charged if you miss an alarm with Hardcore Mode on. It is not a purchase of a product, so the refund windows above do not apply to it.

Stakes are not refundable once a missed alarm is confirmed, except through a successful appeal. You can appeal a charge from History in the app within 7 days of the charge. We review appeals within 48 hours and refund approved appeals in full. The Hardcore Mode Terms set out the grounds for appeal.

If you chose to donate your stakes to a cause, amounts that have already been passed on to the cause cannot be reversed. A charge that was made in error, for example a duplicate charge or a charge for an alarm that the app wrongly recorded as missed, is refunded in full on appeal.

13. How to request a refund for a web purchase

Write to [email protected] from the e-mail address registered on your RiseDare account. We reply within 2 business days. To help us deal with it quickly, include:

  • Your registered e-mail address.
  • Your order ID or invoice number (it is in the confirmation e-mail).
  • The date and amount of the charge.
  • A short reason for the request. For a duplicate or unrecognised charge, a screenshot of the bank or UPI entry helps.
  • Please do not send your card number, card security code, UPI PIN, passwords or one-time passwords. We will never ask for them.

14. How and when refunds are paid

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 5–7 business days. UPI refunds usually arrive faster. After we send a refund, the time it takes to appear in your account depends on your bank or card issuer, and bank processing times may vary.

Other points to know:

  • We refund to the same account, card or UPI ID that made the payment. We cannot refund to a different person or a different payment method, except where the original method no longer exists and we are able to verify you.
  • A full refund returns the full amount you paid, including the GST charged on it. Where required, we issue a credit note against the original invoice.
  • Refunds are made in the currency of the original payment. If your bank converted the payment, any difference caused by exchange rates or bank fees is outside our control.
  • When a refund is made, the paid access linked to that payment ends and the account moves to the Free plan. Any mandate for that plan is cancelled so that you are not charged again.
  • A referral reward or promotional credit that was given because of the refunded payment may be taken back.
  • We send you an e-mail when the refund has been started. If it has not reached you after the period above, send us the reference from that e-mail and we will trace it with the gateway.

15. Failed payments where money left your account

Sometimes a payment fails or times out but the amount is still debited by your bank. In most cases the bank or the payment gateway reverses such an amount automatically, and the time taken depends on your bank.

If the amount has not come back and Pro was not activated, write to [email protected] with the date, the amount and the transaction reference from your bank or UPI app. We will check with our payment gateway and either activate your plan or make sure the amount is returned to you.

16. Chargebacks and payment disputes

If you see a charge you do not recognise or do not agree with, please contact us first. We can usually resolve it faster than a bank dispute, and we refund genuine errors in full.

You always have the right to raise a dispute with your bank or card issuer. If a chargeback or dispute is raised, we will share the transaction and usage records with the payment gateway and the bank so that it can be decided. While a dispute is open we may suspend the paid plan connected to that payment, and Hardcore Mode if the dispute concerns a stake. If the dispute is decided in your favour, the plan linked to that payment ends. We do not refund an amount twice: if you receive money back through a chargeback, a separate refund for the same payment will not be made.

Raising disputes that are clearly unfounded, or repeatedly, is treated as misuse and may lead to the account being restricted from making further purchases.

17. Your rights under consumer law

This policy is written to be consistent with the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020. Nothing in it limits any right that you have under those laws or under any other law that cannot be excluded by agreement. If you live outside India you may have additional rights under the consumer law of your country, and those rights are not affected.

18. Complaints and company details

If you are not satisfied with a refund decision, write to our Grievance Officer, (to be added), at [email protected], and include your order ID and our earlier reply. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days. You may also contact the National Consumer Helpline.
